What is the definition of "first-time home buyer"?

The Ministry of Finance of Ontario defines him or her as "an individual who is at least 18 years of age and who has never owned an eligible home anywhere in the world and whose spouse has not owned an eligible home anywhere in the world while he or she was a spouse of the individual" (please refer the official site: Land Transfer Tax Refunds For First-Time Homebuyers). So, don't mark the "I am a first-time home buyer" check box in the calculator if you ever had a real property - even in another country.
